Therapy often involves highly sensitive subject matter and confidentiality is an extremely important part of the therapeutic process. Your therapy sessions are completely private and the content of those sessions will be held in the strictest of confidence. I do not share any information without your written consent. It is important to know that there are a few important legal exceptions to confidentiality, which are as follows:
• Suspected physical or sexual abuse or neglect of a minor under 18 years of age.
• Suspected physical, sexual, or financial abuse or neglect of an elder or dependent adult.
• A client who poses a significant threat of harm to self or others.
